Frequently Asked Questions

Helpful answers to common questions about Scentsy wax, warmers, fragrance performance, and care.

Fragrance naturally fades as wax is warmed repeatedly. You may also become accustomed to a scent over time, known as olfactory fatigue.

Try switching fragrances, replacing older wax, or checking that your warmer is using the correct bulb. Room size, airflow, and warmer temperature can also affect how noticeable the fragrance feels.

Scentsy wax can provide fragrance through multiple warming sessions, but how long it lasts depends on the fragrance, warmer, room conditions, and personal preference.

The wax itself doesn't evaporate like candle wax. Instead, its fragrance gradually fades. Replace it when the scent becomes too faint for you to enjoy. Some fragrances naturally seem stronger or last longer than others.

Start with one or two Scentsy wax cubes, adjusting the amount according to your warmer's size and the fragrance strength you prefer.

Check your warmer's instructions and dish capacity before adding more wax. Mini Warmers have smaller dishes and generally need less wax than full-size warmers. Never overfill the dish.

To change fragrances, place a Scentsy Cotton Cleanup pad into the melted wax. It absorbs the wax in seconds, making removal quick and easy.

Once the warmer dish has cooled enough to handle safely, gently wipe away any remaining residue with a soft paper towel. Never pour used wax down the sink or drain, and always follow your warmer's cleaning instructions.

The correct replacement bulb depends on your Scentsy Warmer's model. Scentsy uses several wattages, including 10W, 15W, 20W, 25W, and 40W.

Check your warmer's original specifications or wattage label before purchasing a replacement. Always use the correct bulb type and wattage. Never substitute a higher-wattage bulb.

Element Warmers use a heating element instead of a replaceable warming bulb.

Scentsy Warmers use low-wattage bulbs or heating elements to melt wax without an open flame. However, they're still electrical appliances that generate heat.

As a precaution, switch your warmer off before sleeping or leaving it unattended. Always follow your warmer's specific safety instructions, use the correct bulb, and keep it on a stable surface away from children, pets, and heat-sensitive materials.

Scentsy Warmers are designed to work with Scentsy Bars, which use a specially formulated wax blend.

Other wax melts may have different formulations and melting characteristics, so fragrance performance isn't guaranteed to be the same. For the intended experience, use Scentsy Bars and follow your warmer's care instructions.
